Should Creationism be taught in school?

The new Republican Vice Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin has recently been criticized for her opinion that America should teach creationism in school. While I'm an Obama supporter, of course, and the pick of Sarah Palin as McCain's running mate is delightful, hilarious and pretty dumb... I agree that creationism should be taught in schools.

Creationism is basically the Theory of Intelligent Design, which is much more logical then the Theory of Evolution.

The Theory of Evolution forces you to believe that Evolution took the process all the way to Chimpanzees, then to Humans.. then Stopped. 500 years ago, Humans were on average almost a half a foot shorter. 500 years ago, Chimpanzees were NOT on average any closer to being Human.

  1. As far as Creationism goes, I completely agree with you.  It makes much more sense for us to believe our universe is all part of the Master plan.

On a separate, but related note, I am a McCain/Palin supporter for several reasons, but the standout for me is that I am Pro-Life.  Of course, there are all kinds of issues we are dealing with in our country, but what is more important than a human beings right to live?  Many may criticize me for this but that is ok.

I know about the war, my husband is a Marine; I know about gas prices, and oil, I pay the same price you do.

With so many issues that hang in the balance: the economy, taxes, national security, the War on Terror, etc., the most innocent creatures lives and deaths go unnoticed.  I think it's time we do notice them and treat them with the rights they deserve.

Sorry I went a bit off subject to your question but I had to address the McCain/Palin dis!

  2. I think this. People should be allowed to do or have what they want in their areas. I don't care if someone wants to have bible study in school in kentucky..that's fine just be aware that many want to have g*y marriages in San Francisco...

but they don't want that...that want it their way and reality doesn't work in that fashion.

  3. no and it never will be. just because some vp wants it doesnt mean it will happen. h**l if the president wanted it theres a good chance it still wont happen.

  4. Setting my personal beliefs to the side, I'm willing to accept that evolution is a theory and so long as it is presented as such I have no problem with it being taught.

I think that since evolution is a theory that it is appropriate for an alternative theory to also be taught which is where intelligent design comes in. The key is that is must be kept in the broad generalization of "Intelligent Design." So that it does not conflict with the diversity of the students.

So I say yes, that Intelligent Design should also be taught.
