  1. She was just gonna talk to him and tell him what she thought he did wrong, and I think they should have allowed her to do that.  But she did say after the race that it was probably a good thing that she didn't get to him, so I don't know.

    She was in FRONT of you, and she was already all the way to the right, next to the wall.

    Was she supposed to just stop, and let you cut in?

    What would you have said if the places were reversed?

    Would you have let her in.

    She had position on you.

    She had the lane, and she was ahead of you,

    you swung across 3 lanes, instead of pulling into the get-up-into-speed-lane, like you should have.

    You accelerated while your wheels were turned, and you lost it.

  3. No, I don't think she should do as you say.  That would be unsportsmanlike, and it definitely would not be a professional decision to do so.

    I like, and support, Danica in ICS.  She's good for the league, and she's a good driver.  (I can hear the guffaws from here but, face it truthfully, she's better than most of the other drivers in the series; barring the top few stars.)  Her record speaks for itself.

    Danica's rookie years are over and, now, she has to start reigning in her anger issues.  True:  she has every right in the world to WANT to do it:  and so would I.  To be fair, she started off on a rampage but quelled it before she reached the point of no return.  (Kudos for that!)

    The point is that this is a Professional Sport (whether anyone wants to contest THAT or not) and she needs to continue growing into the part.  There's no room for personal grudges here, and it would not do a driver's career any favors in "flying off the handle".  (i.e. Look what it's done for Paul Tracy's)

    Anyone finding satisfaction out of drivers' antics are not serious racing fans:  They are fans of the superlative.

    She would do well (and appears to be working on it) to follow Tony Kanaan's attitude (after his fiasco with Marco) and "suck it up".  It's racing.  It's a dangerous arena.  It's going to happen again.

    I reiterate:  It's OK to be furiously angry at another driver.  It's not OK to vent that anger in public.  That's the stuff of Drivers' and Teams' Meetings or, in the physical sense, behind closed doors with no fans watching and escalating the issues.

    And yet:  I congratulate her on a superb effort in the '08 Indy 500, and feel she will win it some day.

  4. I'd love to see Briscoe punch her, & knock out a couple teeth, then maybe she would concentrate on racing instead of modeling. I've never seen a more overrated person in any sport!!!!

  6. no.. i really want to say yes, becuase she is my favorite, but she had NO chance of winning the 500. she had control problems with her car since the beginning and it just wasnt fast enough to get her the victory.

She said its a good thing she didnt make it to Briscoes pit. Ahh, why. What was she going to do? She might think it makes her look tough or something, but shes really just embarassing herself.

  9. First off, she wasn't going to be better than 7th or 8th. Second, I wish she would try to kick Briscoe or any other mans "donuts". Because I want them to knock the ever-lovin' dog S**t out of her. She knows she can act that way because guys don't want to hit girls. But if she wants to play with and be treated like a big boy, she needs to suffer all of the repercussions of her actions. She is a classless joke and will never be more than a 1 hit wonder.

    edit - One more question - In her first Indy 500 race, she took out several cars on a restart, did she need to get her @ss whipped? Do you even remember her first Indy 500? I've been watching racing all of my life, and what happened was an unfortunate racing "accident". Patrick are getting as bad a Jr. fans.

  10. She wasn't going to win that race anyway. Things happen fast out there, but she never once touched the brakes to avoid Briscoe.

  11. Let me piggyback on what my friend Irl Kanaan fan said. This is a professional sport. I completely understand that Danica was upset with Ryan Briscoe; if I were her, I would be as well. However, her actions were childish, immature, dangerous and above all else, classless. And it's not the first time this has happened. What really needs to happen is that the IRL needs a Big Red Trailer like NASCAR and order Patrick, Briscoe and their respective team owners-Michael Andretti, Kim Green and Kevin Savoree for Patrick; and Roger Penske for Ryan Briscoe-to the trailer for a "discussion" about what happened. Who knows? It might in fact happen. I'm frankly disgusted with the author of this question for believing that violence is  an appropriate response to this situation.

  14. No, because this would be lowering herself to his level. this was an unfortunate circumstance but look at how Ms. Fisher handled her situation.

    Although these were two totally unrelated accidents there were two different ways in which these were handled.

    Even in NASCAR I feel saddened when " the boys " get so hot under the collar they can't act like grown - up gentlemen.

    Both Ladies and Gentlemen who race in ANY AREA of the automobile racing sport should and need to realize they are setting examples for the fans, especially the younger generation. Automobile Racing Participants should realize what the results of losing their tempers might mean to fans.

  18. No, Danica needs to learn how to take "The High Road" when these things happen. Sure Briscoe made a HUGE mistake but things like that happen in auto racing. Danica has made mistakes too. Her little tantrums won't change a DARN THING and she needs to learn how to cool off.

    IT's over and she should just start focusing on Milwaukee..

    It's over, She was a victim of bad fortune and it won't be the last time she is involved in an accident....it happens to ALL the drivers at some point....

  19. even though that would be funny, Danica should just relax. Yes it was a bad break but that is a part of racing. If anyone should be mad at Briscoe it should be the IRL and ABC executives. Because of Briscoe their "golden child" was taken out of the only race that matters in the league.

    Seriously, while I know their are fans out their who like their driver, many more people tuned in just because it was the indy 500 and many of those viewers will ONLY watch this race because of the fact that danica was in it.

    I would love to see the ratings for before danica crashed and at the moment she was taken out of the race because I know I am not the only one who stopped watching the race.

    The incident like that is part of racing. It happens all the time. Look what happened in the same race to Tony Kanaan .. accident caused by his own teammate. Should Tony kick Andreti? No, these accident / incidents are just part of racing.

  25. It's too bad Joe can't count. There were three women in the race. Milka Duno who drives for Citco which is an underfunded team, Sarah Fisher, who owns her own team, and Danica.

    I don't think she would actually have done it but she would have come close. That was a really stupid move on Briscoe's part. There was no way he could help NOT wrecking someone.

    Understandably, he wanted to win too, but you have to be able to finish to do that and he used bloody poor judgment.
