Most of us have been in a fight before and what he did was undoubtedly wrong. Should his entire swimming future be destroyed because of it? Opinions?

  1. i do feel for the guy & i hope he is strong mentally,....but  this is the second time he punched someone isnt it?..so  he did not learn by his mistake the first time..........but after his punishment is served, he should be able to still swim  for Australia!  you have to draw the line somewhere really, as it is classed as a criminal offence what he did ...so not good for the team......*sigh* & yeap very sad ...typo

  2. I think that it was a terrible thing that he did, and he definitely should be punished, but it's a terrible thing to lose your dream after working so hard for it. I suppose it all depends on how long ago the incident was.

Dang, he's strong and hot though.

  3. No. He screwed up, and should feel the punishment. He can try again in another 4 years.

  4. No, F*ck him. He shouldn't of had a bar fight in a first place.

  5. No, do the crime do the time, this will teach him a good lesson not to go around hitting people thinking he can get away with it. He has ruined Simon Cowley's swimming career, think about him for a moment while he's having to get facial reconstruction surgery and his chances of going to the Olympics are over due to Darcy. So what good for the goose is good for the gander.

  6. Yes.

Andrew Lauterstein should get a haircut.

  7. NO

  8. As a representative of the country he should hold himself better than that. Then again Victor Davis went through a similar story but got to compete. I think it should be up to AOC and i respect their decision

  9. at the risk of sounding prudish, as a representative of australia, i don't believe his bad behaviour should be tolerated.

what kind of message does this send to children?  "it doesn't matter what you do because you'll still achieve your goals"

this is also true of afl players.  if i punched someone in the face because they kept getting in my way (such as on the train!!) i'd be charged with assault.  afl players just aren't allowed to play for a few weeks.  again, what kind of message does this send out to todays youth - who can't be smacked or punished anyway???
