  1. They need to do both, but it's particularly important for them to highlight the major differences between Obama and Bush.  Bush has been president for 8 years, all heck is breaking loose, and even if all Obama did was to stand on a stage and say "I'm not like Bush," he'd be halfway to the White House.  I'm not sure it's fair to blame *everything* on Bush, but that's how it is.

  2. Both.  But linking McCain to Bush's policies is probably more effective.

  3. if the democratic convention goes as well as their primaries it will guarantee a republican win.

  4. Keep piling it on Bush.  After all, McCain is no different.   As far as I am  concerned Obama is already built up.  We were delegates for Obama in Texas at our precint and  county conventions.

Just look at what McSame wants to do to the Supreme Court.

John " Keating 5 " McCain is no more ethical than the current resident of the WH.  This worst president ever is helping is party much these days.

  5.       Why criticize Bush?  He's not running

          for anything.......he'll soon be retiring.

  6. There was an article on Obama's politics in the paper today, the New York Times, and, many delegates in the piece decried the Kerry tactic of hands off Bush strategy that occurred in '04.

Speakers will, I think, attack Bush, and link McCain's policy's to that of Bush.

Democrats perceive they need to be on the attack this year.

  7. As far as I know, Bush isn't running for anything this time around.  Even my apolitical girlfriend was yelling at the TV last night that Bush isn't running for anything, why not tell us what they are going to do different.  So yes, I hope all they do is bash Bush.  Great strategy.

  8. The election of a new president should never be based on how the last president did and people are not even interested in what Bush did , they want to know what the next President is going to do to change the flow of things . So to answer the queation they had better focus on building up Obama .

  9. We should hammer the moron.

    Nail meet sledge hammer.

  10. Despite the faux moral outrage of politicians and of the public, the simple fact is "going negative" works. It's a strategy that has repeatedly worked for the fascist Repugnants over the years...and if the Democrats want to win, they had better start slinging mud as fast and furiously as possible. They need to shout from the rooftops how old their opponent is...and the truth that every mortuary table reveals: people in McBush's age group have a very high probability of dying. Ol' John is simply unlikely to survive his first term. Likewise, they need to examine his service record: is a man with a proven track record of crashing planes really qualified to lead the nation? Or, what about his time in prison camp and the allegations of collaboration with the enemy? Why do so many other POW's say John returned overweight when so many of them were emaciated? Does it matter that John is so familiar with the red light district of Saigon? Or, that, upon returning home and discovering his wife had been paralyzed in a car accident, started dating the young, wealthy heiress who is now his wife? Does it matter that he has a history of verbally abusing his wife in public? Does it matter that he has PTSD and a reputation for hair-trigger outbursts of uncontrollable rage? Last, but definitely not least, does it matter that he rubberstamped every single move by the Bush administration to rob Americans of their constitutional rights and to inflict an illegal, terroristic war against both Afghanistan and Iraq? The simple fact is that every single one of these allegations is true. And, it is high time that the Democrats start shouting them from the rooftops. The Democrats need to start slinging mud as ferociously as possible...because the Republicans have never had any hesitation when it comes to trash talk...and because, at least in this case, every charge the Democrats can level at McBush is TRUE.

  11. does it matter...anything they do will just be politics as usual...there is no "change" obama talks about...he is change i can't believe in...

  12. After bashing Bush for 8 years, it is becoming too much of a habit for them not to, even if it is not in their best interest.

  13. oh for the love of god.  i think that we should encourage our politicians to quit with the smear campaigns of both sides of the isle and stick to the issues.  i think that the first one to do that will be such a refreshing breath of fresh air that they would garner an unbelievable amount of support from the middle as to crush their opponent.  at least until we can come up with a new system for choosing who will lead us and give us bette candidates.

obama has a lot of good qualities so it shouldn't be hard for the dems to focus on these and what, honestly, could be said about bush that hasn't already been said ad nauseum

    Go third party!!!!

  14. Both.

  15. They will do both

  16. Hiya,

I personally think they should do both. He has to win poor white votes , thats the only way to win.

    Bill

  17. This year the Democrats will focus more on Bush then themselves.

EDIT: Why vote me down? It was on the news, and not fox!

  18. its going to be a typical democrat diatribe of blaming all bad things on republicans and if only the common people could see that the democrats will make everything OK by taxing anyone that makes over 42,000 dollars a year like 80%

  19. They are going to bash Bush, because after all, their entire platform is "we aren't Bush"

  20. I say bash the devil and bring up the angel.

This year is good vs. evil.

    War against peace

    Bush lite (McCain) against Obama.

  21. They should focus on a plan.  What a concept and miracle that would be.

  22. lots and lots of bush bashing.

  23. They will focus on how repub conservatism doesn't work. They will point out that the economy has failed under Reagan Bush1and Bush 2. That the debt is 50 trillion and counting, the army is broken and needs to be fixed, the economy is in desperate shape, inflation and unemployment are raising faster than anytime in the last twenty years, prices of food and energy destroying household budgets, millions of people loosing their homes, medical insurance destroying families.

  24. i think the democrats spend way to much time critiziing who ever they can! and being immature, you hear what nancy pelosi did at congress ??? yeah you should look it up

  25. Running against McCain is too complicated for the Democrats.  He's still around to defend himself.  Keep fighting against Bush, he has never defended himself before and is not in a position to now.  Going after Bush is less work and isn't that what the Democratic party is all about, getting paid off for less work?
