Question:

Should Drive Safely Signs/Crosses/Flowers be Mandatory Traffic Fatalities?

i see alot of Drive Safely signs but i also hear about deadly crashes(car ejections, decapitations and all that) and alot of them dont have Flowers, or signs, not even anything that will let you know someone died there. Maybe some marks, but those wash away with time, how come this is aloud to happen? because honestly, people will be driving/skidding out over where someone layed and died lifelessly. Does anyone agree it should be mandatory(free of charge also) for the state to erect signs where people died from crashes/or hit?

  1. No it shouldn't be mandatory, and there is no such thing as free. All that will happen is the taxpayers will pay, and if you ever saw how Govt pays for things it would be cheaper for the families to put something up IF THEY WANT SOMETHING UP. As to the crosses they used to only be put up for a drunk driving fatality, when a drunk driver killed someone, and frankly I miss that idea. I'm all for putting something up for an accident if someone wants to, but use something besides a cross. Last thing is why should we do it in every case anyway? What about people who die at home or in the hospital? Do people put up a marker for all those people? How about if it was Doctor mistakes that killed the patient? Do you see a marker put up?

  2. I think that if someone has passed on a rural rd like where I live and if someone does not mind for a cross or something small be placed where that person passed i would not see anything worng with that but as to place sighns every where you realize how many sighns there would be not counting our highway signs, it would soon look like a highway cemetery.........

  3. actually it is illegal to erect monuments on state right of way along side the roads
