Klye126: Marriage was not originally a religious ceremony. Marriage existed long before religions developed ceremonies. You won't find any marriage ceremonies in the Bible. Each culture developed its own forms of marriage. The most common form of marriage in the Bible was polygamy, but it wasn't the only kind. Also recorded are monogamy and (if you read the Hebrew OT) same-s*x marriage is also recorded. In some places on earth, polygamy, polyandry and same-s*x marriage are recognized forms of marriage.

California legalized same-s*x marriages and her and Porcia have been together for 4 years, in an interview on Yahoo, she stated that Ellen helped her come out of the closet about being a L*****n. They love each other that much then yes, of course they should be allowed to be wed just like all heterosexual couples.

Of course. I understand that people oppose it religiously. If it really is a "sin in god's eyes" then, in a religious sense, it probably shouldn't be allowed. However, in Australia, straight couples are allowed to get married with or WITHOUT religious connotation, as i believe they are in most countries. Therefore, it is only fair that homosexual couples are allowed to get married because it has nothing to do with god.
