That's one way to get "England" in the name of a winning team? Like you, I think it could be a great match to watch. As for an annual event, I think that might put too much stress on the current England team. Maybe bi-annually so they could have a good rest in between!

years ago England trials as with every home nation were always played with a "possibles" v " probables" and quite often the possibles won although that never seemed to reflect on team selection. However I think Saxons v England XV would be a good idea

How about a celtic team banging heads with a saxon team , wouldn't that be more interesting than England playing England?
