Because of the separation of church and state, it seems wrong that our tax dollars support the religion of evolution in science class.

  1. Where have you been? It was taught in my school when I was a kid.

  2. There is nothing religious about the theory of evolution.  Based on all legitimate scientific evidence studied to date, it is the most plausible explanation for the origins of life on earth.  The separation of church and state dictates that religion has no place in a science class, and it would be contradictory to take religion into consideration when planning a science curriculum.

  3. Despite what everyone says, evolution is not a proven fact.  It's a theory based on an atheistic axiom.  It presumes that there is no external intelligence.  Which blocks out even the possibility of there being a designer.

Creationism has the exactly opposite axiom.  God created the world.  It falls very short of coming up with a coherent explanation of how all that happened though.

Why should both not be shown.  After all, science should be about using evidence to come up with conclusions.  Show students the evidence and let them decide.  What are we all so scared of?

  4. I think it should be taught as a theory, not a fact because it's not proven and they're are some major holes in the theory but they never mention those.

  5. evolution can be taught but only as a theory in fact darvin based his findings on sparrows and other birds  from different islands that is why if u ask your teacher they have to state that it is a THEORY of evolution also in my school system you may ask your teacher to discuss creation and they have to present that on a bbias's

  6. I think you need to read "Inherit the Wind."

  7. it should because schools always teach the scientific theory so they can teach the evolutionary theory. if they teach kids this, they will be more interested in it later in life and maybe discover something new about it.

  8. Science should be taught in the class room.  Biology is science.  Biology proves evolution.

  9. Although it can never reach the "fact" status due to us never being able to witness it first hand, it will always float in the theory area. However, evidence such as fossils, carbon dating, astronomy and the size of our planet in comparison to the rest of the universe should be presented. If we do know something to be fact, why not present it?

Holding back the younger generation by not sharing our current knowledge would be a step backwards from where we are today. Imagine the religions that disregard technology (Amish) and if everyone were to follow their lifestyle guidelines? I know I wouldn't be here today posting on the Internet.

Schools should present what we know and let the students decide on their own. Arriving at a logical conclusion, whether it be from a text book or the Holy Book, should be their decision.

  10. Evolution is a proven idea in science.  Natural organisms change over time.  This is a proven idea, not a religion.
