  1. You really should educate yourself more on the subject before making such a statement.

  2. The states should allow a legal union.  Marriage should be decided by whatever religion the people belong to.

A child with two well adjusted g*y parents is better off than a child from a broken home. Would you take children away from single parents?

  3. yeah, it should be. stop being ignorant.

  4. well, i was told that it says in the bible that its wrong. but my view is its your life, you do what makes you happy. and dont care what others think. children with parents like that should be talked to about it. they should be asked thier opion. they should also be told that whatever thier parents do should not reflect what they do when they are older.

  5. Any child who has loving parents has the chance of a normal life, they don't have to be heterosexual.

  6. What does it matter if parents are married or not?

As a bit of a news flash, you don't actually need to be married to procreate.   So whether or not a child has g*y parents has no bearing on whether or not they should be legally allowed to marry.

I say sure to g*y marriage for the sole reason that I am a little uncomfortable with the government interfering with how two consenting adults choose to define their relationships.

Marriage is a legal process.   Allowing two people of the same s*x to marry in no way impacts my life, my relationship or my marriage

  7. No.    They need to at least call it a diffren name. Marrage is for strait.......just pick a new name and we will give you the d**n tax break.

  8. none of your business, im not telling you who can marry..... last time i checked its SUPPOSED to be a free country... im sure they dont your "marriage" anyways... civil unions are fine... and you dont know anything about the children... g*y couples are more likely to stay together cuz it takes so much to get there... i would rather have g*y parents then divorced!

  9. fine, what does that have to do with them getting married? Not all married couples have kids.  Some just want to be together and show their love for each other.  I don't think it is anyone else's business if two people who love each other want to get married.  They aren't hurting anyone.

  10. My answer is yes, it should be legal.  We talk about equality here in the United States.  Back in the 50's and 60's, fighting for equality also meant fighting against the stereotype that a black person should not marry a white person.  Back then, people used the argument that a mixed kid would not have a normal life.  To an extent, they were right.  But that's only because the bigoted people such as theirselves made it difficult for those children.

If you asked many of the children that grow up with g*y parents, they are very happy with their parents being g*y despite the adversity they face in school.  The adversity they face is from bigoted people who think anything outside of the norm is wrong.

If blacks were told back in the 50's and 60's that marriage with a white person wouldn't be allowed, but were told instead that we'll OK a civil union, but you don't have the right to call it a marriage.  How do you think they would have taken that?  It's like saying you are less of a person, that the love you have for your spouse/partner doesn't mean as much.  It is demeaning.

How would you feel if you fell in love with someone, say your husband or wife, then someone told you.  "Oh yeah, you can't marry her/him."  Every person should have the right to marry the person they fall in love with.

Not only that, but let's say you fall in love with someone from outside the US.  You want to get married, but guess what the government won't recognize the marriage.  The person you fell in love with can't live in the US unless it is a legal marriage.  Many in the g*y community face that.  Without marriage being legal for g**s/lesbians, if they fall in love in, their partner can't live in the US like with other people.

Or how would you feel if you had kids and you couldn't allow your partner to have custody of your kids when you die?  Or what if you were forced to have a relative you didn't like make life and death situations when you are in the hospital instead of your partner like how you'd like.  Heck, many g*y couples can't even visit their partner in a hospital because they aren't considered family.

Not only that, but in many states a person can be fired just because they are g*y.

What if you could be fired just because you were straight?  Do you think that is fair?  No, it isn't fair and current US law is not fair to g**s and lesbians.

First, you need to start thinking about this from the standpoint of if you were g*y, what would you deem fair.  Only then can you start obtaining a true perspective.

Don't start rushing to judgment and saying g*y marriage should not be legal.  You never know how many of your close friends around you might be g*y.  I've seen many people make slams on g**s and not know that their best friend standing right beside them was g*y or that their kid standing right next to them was g*y.

From an equality standpoint, g*y marriage should be legal.  If you want to use the normal life standpoint, then maybe we should still be back in the 50's with segregated schools and where it was looked down upon where blacks and whites shouldn't marry.

Many of the same arguments were made concerning race as are currently being made regarding g**s and lesbians.  Such as not allowing them in the military.  The argument, "we can't allow them in the military because the troups won't feel comfortable around them."  The same was argued when black troops were placed in the same units as white troops.  Neither argument was fair to the black troops or the g*y troops.  g*y troops have a very strong argument because there are already thousands of g*y troops serving in the US military without incident.  They should not have to hide their sexuality because of bigoted people like the ones 40-50 years ago that didn't want to serve with black soldiers.

The last thing the US should ever do is make constitutional amendments State or Federal that limit a person's freedom.  The US Constitution was designed by our forefathers to ensure freedom and equality.  Only one amendment to the US Constitution was ever passed limiting freedom in the US.  That amendment was the amendment to prohibit the drinking of alcohol and it was later rescinded.

Some people state that marriage is defined as being between a man and a woman.  Where does that definition come from?  Religion.  If that definition comes from religion, how can someone also argue the separation of church and state also outlined in the Constitution?  The definition of marriage should not be defined by religion but by equality and law.

I do however think that churches should have the right to refuse to marry two people whether they be straight, g*y, etc.  However, all couples should have the right to be married by the state/government.

  11. Name me five serial killers who came from a family with g*y parents, and I'll name you fifty who came from a "normal" and "straight" family.  Your ignorance is showing.  Just because it's different than you doesn't mean it's wrong.

  12. No

  13. Should Single Parents be outlawed? If a father isn't listed should the child be taken? If BOTH parents aren't there should the child not be given to the mother? I mean I'm going by this the child can't have a normal life scenario. I agree they won't have a "normal" life, but neither do children raised by a single parent. Although as single parents get more common I'd guess two parent houses will soon no longer be normal. Now what do children have to do with MARRIAGE of same-s*x couples though? Last I checked the reproductive issues will STILL prevent them from having kids on their own, married or single, and those issues can be gotten around even if the people are single. Now if this question was about same-s*x ADOPTION then yeah that would fit. In the end I think Same-s*x Marriage shouldn't be legal, but it is really a moral question. If you want to go by the "blind law" then it SHOULD be legal. If everyone is equal then what harm is coming to society in general from them getting married? If you want to go by law then for it to be illegal it should be harmful to society.

  14. Marriage has always been between a man and a woman. If g**s want to have some kind of union, let them call it something else. To me, it cheapens the whole idea of what marriage is about.

  15. You right they cant have a normal life, however not being married wont change this situation because they can still live together and raise a family. On one hand I say no because it seems wrong morally. But then on the other hand if you do truly love someone same s*x or not you should be allowed to be married to them. I have reasons for why i would want it both ways.

  16. Look at all the screwed-up, bigoted, abused and abusive people from quote-unquote "normal" families.

Also, you're confusing marriage with parenting -- not all straight couples have children, and not all g*y couples want them. At least with a g*y couple their child is absolutely wanted, whereas with a straight couple pregnancies can be the result of an accident, and they try to make do rather than intend very much to bring a child into the family.

As for the marriage itself, we've had g*y marriage in Ontario for a few years now. No straight couple is any less married for it.

  17. yes to g*y marriage and to g*y adoption

    anything else is a no
