Should Girls play Football?

Well guys don't think girls can play football, but I'm not the girly type. I want to play but people don;t think girls should. Me and my friend love football but we think the coach will leave us as bench warmers, can someone help???

As long as your good at your position you should play doesnt matter what age, race, color, s*x you are as long as you can play and your good at what you do

i had a girl on my high school football team and a lot of the dudes were scared of her, she was a beast

Hey..It sounds like we're a lot the same..I LOVE football too. I wanted to start playing on the team in 5th grade..but my Dad didn't want his little girl playing football..especially with all the guys. Every year I would ask him again..and he would tell me NO! I'm going into 9th grade this year and now I'm playing soccer...but I still wish I could play football. I say Go for it! If your parents are willing to let you..and you want to..you should.

About the bench warmers part..Most football coaches probably think girls shouldn't play..I say the best player should get the spot..but that's just what think....If you do decide play always work hard in practice and never give up...you'll have a better chance at getting to play...Well..that's about all I can say..Good Luck!! Thats a touchy subject.  It can be an issue because Football is a very physical, aggressive and injury prone sport.  If you are OK with 200 plus pound men tackling you and throwing you to the ground, then thats your choice.  Most of us men have been raised to not get physical with women. It also could be considered an unfair advantage in your favor because the guys would not play to their full potential in fear of hurting you.  Men and women have distinctly different physical characteristics and musculature.  This is why Men are not permitted to compete against women in other sports. To be fair to each gender, it should be kept separate.  Form an all female football league and have a blast!

Sorry but if girls went  and played with us big muscley men. There could be alot of injuries. Then  they would cry and quit.       Football is a man's sport! Not right for women.

It all depends on the level you are trying to play. My son who is 10 is playing in a league where the max weight is 105 lb. This levels the playing field. There is a girl on his team (also plays baseball with my son) and she is GOOD. I mean she is tougher than most of the guys and she plays harder than most of the guess.

Plus she is cute so I think the guys take it easy on her sometimes, the first time. But after she puts them on their butt, she gets treatment like everybody else.

Saying that, once you move up into High School football, specifically Varsity, its harder to compete at the same level as the guys. During those last couple of years of High School, boys bodies grown so much and they become on average stronger and faster than girls. This is when the injuries occur.

You need to know yourself and limitations, as well as the level of talent of the boys you will be playing with. Additionally you need to also know that you will have to be BETTER than the guys to have a chance at playing. People, especially the coaches, will already put you at a disadvantage because you are a girl so you have to work twice as hard for half as much credit. But if you have it in you, I say go for it.

They should have Girls football in high school. not co-ed football where your on the bench, i'm talking a separate team just for the girls. I think that would be great. But yeah, if you join the team, your coach isn't gonna let you play, because whether you want to believe it or not, A girl could get seriously injured playing for real against a boy.

the only thing about girls playing foot ball is that we are more fragile then guys this girl in junior high thought that she could play with the guys and ht hit so hard that it acctually knocked one of her overies out of place and then now she can never have kids... so its not so much that they dont think that we can do it its just not wise to...unless its touch not tackle

Actually, in my football team at high school, we have an olb that is a girl and she is one of our better players. If you want to play go ahead!
