Should Gordon Brown up the level at which stamp duty is paid to 200,000 to help the first time buyer?

  1. But it wont really help them, When he put up the stamp duty last time, estate agents put an extra $5000 on every house under the stamp duty, so you ended up paying more. I have friends that are estate agents that's how i know.

    If a house cost £125.000 you'd pay a 1% stamp duty on that so £1250 but with that stamp duty gone you have to pay $5000 more, it's very wrong. The estate agents should be hald to book some how.

    I'm just glad i got a house before it all went mental.
