They are both culturally similar and both look the same to the point you wouldnt know you were in another country.

  1. for the person above me ..Guyana needs to give its land back to Venezuela?im sorry but venezuela is the one who has it paws on Guyanas land.

anyways no i dont think so. very different cultures.and it would totally ruin both guyana's and suriname's culture. im a guyanese but im not gonna be biased like a certain person above me. guyana's economy is going down and i dont think surniname would want to get involved. theyve also been disputing over the corentyne river. i think after a history of so much tension between the two if u were to put the two together then there would be much chaos .

  2. Guyana and Suriname are not culturally similar... they are very different. Also why would Suriname want to join with that poor country of Guyana? Another thing is the Guyana speaks English and Suriname speaks Dutch. What Guyana needs to do is give Venezuela back its land by the Essequibo river.

  3. First of all in respects to that land dispute that an individual  voiced his opinion about stating "What guyana needs to do is give Venezuela back its land..." should really get informed and do his research.

As well as culturally and geographically Guyana and Surniam have alot in common with there South American counter parts. However I do not see these two countries uniting to become one  because of their history and both of these countries have alot of economic, political and social issues.

  4. No that shouldn't and wouldn't happen. Guyana has enough fiscal problems and it just wouldn't. Its like asking USA and Canada to merge.
