  1. yes

  2. HE CAN'T put an end to his career like that.south african team needs him.

    EDIT-

He defiantly deserves respect for the sweat, blood and sacrifice he's given to the African team and from the fans for the great matches he's given over the years even if he is near the end of his career.

  3. I believe he is still good enough to play in the odi version of the game.

  4. Herschelle Gibbs has been a great player for us over the years after Rhodes he kept the level of our fielding at that higher level with his brilliant fielding do I personally think his international career is over no but if we are referring to test cricket I think Herschelle hasn't been firing at test level for far to long I honestly can't see him playing a long innings which is needed in test cricket because when I watch him play test cricket nowadays even when he gets a start it almost like he gets bored and gives his wicket away the test team needs stability at the top of the innings and for whatever reason Gibbs cannot provide it His one day form has been good not very consistent but Herschelle never has been to consistent in his career I think he should continue playing odi cricket and international 20 20 cricket He has been a terrific talent for South Africa his 175 in 438 game showed what he is capable off but I think Herschelle has never really lived up to his potential in international cricket he is very fit and has said before he would like to play in the 2011 world cup I hope he can make it

  5. its a pity that,.Herschelle Gibbs has indicated that,..he is contemplating his South Africa career after being left out of the Test squad for the tour of England....so...

most probably as he was one of the worst buys of completed 2008 IP trophy...Lol~

  6. What i cant believe is that he's 34 years old! I always think of Herschelle as a young kid!!

Anyway at 34 years old you are past your peak in your career, you are closer to retirement than a long spell in the team, so you could say the future looks bleak for Gibbs!

BUT it all depends on his commitment to playing international cricket for South Africa. If Gibbs goes to Glamorgan, gets his head down in the nets and works on his weaknesses!! and improves them, then if Gibbs starts scoring runs for Glamorgan then there is a huge chance that Gibbs could be a regular in the South Africa team again!.

Gibbs was only dropped due to bad form, there is no-one in South Africa who can actually say Herschelle Gibbs is not good enough to play for South Africa. His batting ability is invaluable to any side in the world, and he also brings experience and character to the side.

Gibbs has a quality average in both forms of the game, if Gibbs regains his old form he WILL get back into the South African side!. So Gibbs should NOT close his career, IF he is willing to put in some hard work!! If he isnt willing to put in that hard work then YES he should close his career, cos he will never regain his confidence or form!

On his day Gibbs is one of the most devastating batsmen in world cricket!! i wish him all the luck in the world, i hope he can regain the form which will get him back in the side!! (well maybe not until AFTER they play England)
