High Fructose Corn Syrup is in MANY products we eat and it's absolutely horrible for us. Why would they promote something that they know is being linked to diabetes and obesity?

"Researchers have found new evidence that soft drinks sweetened with high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) may contribute to the development of diabetes, particularly in children. In a laboratory study of commonly consumed carbonated beverages, the scientists found that drinks containing the syrup had high levels of reactive compounds that have been shown by others to have the potential to trigger cell and tissue damage that could cause the disease, which is at epidemic levels. They reported here at the 234th national meeting of the American Chemical Society."

  1. I would love to see it banned because of how it works in the body. People can't seem to stop eating the foods that HFCS is in due to the fact that it bypasses the chemical Ghirlin (splilling might be wrong on that) but it tells you when you are full.

  2. no people can buy alternative foods that don't have it why not ban chips because of they are high in grease or eggs because they are high in cholesterol

  3. No.  That's just one more way the government can control it's people.  People need to learn to be responsible for themselves and stop blaming everyone else for their issues.  If they choose to eat HFCP and other terrible foods... such as those with trans fat then that is their problem.  It's called self control and respect for yourself.

  4. No.

People need to be responsible for themselves and their own diets.

Also, for people like me who have Celiac disease, we can't have sweeteners that come from Wheat or Barley (modified food starch, "malt", etc.). It is one of the only options for quite a few individuals with sensitive diets.

  5. Didn't you get enough answers yesterday.

If you don't like HFCS, don't use it, don't eat anything with it.
