It matters not to me, here in Australia, but I just wondered why she wouldn't do this to change public perceptions.

  1. She would only do so if by polling she discovered that enough English-Americans closely identify with "Rhodam" and that by going only by her maiden name her reception in that segment of voters could be strategically augmented without alienating any social values Democrats that want her to maintain her husband's last name. Whatever calculably works better for the Clintons, be it crying to humanize their image or attacking the "vast right-wing conspiracy" to mobilize the base, they undertake. Clearly enough Americans are uncomfortable with the feminist symbolism of abandoning the husband's last name because were it politically expedient, she would have done so by now.

  2. She could, but everyone in the US knows her maiden name is Rodham anyway, so it really wouldn't do any good.

  3. I'm in Australia too, and can tell you without equivocation, that 1) what happens in America matters to you 2) Hillary's probably two days away from being finished and 3) she's transcended her surname. She's Hillary. Dropping her surname makes her no less identifiable.

  4. When she did that as First Lady we heard ALL about that.

  5. What does that have to do with her lack of ability to handle the job?

  6. I always hear people call her Hillary or Hillary Clinton, never the middle name AND I AM IN NYC!

What does that have to do with anything?

  7. It wouldnt matter, she would need a different looking clone with a different temperment and character to impress any Clinton haters all that much. The name is already muddied by scandal after scandal. What would make a difference for her would be impossible---to get a code of moral ethics, and actually live by them.
