Question:

Should I Add White to My Tattoo?

by  |  earlier

I recently got two tattoos done and the tattoo artist decided not to add white during the session. However, he told me to think about adding some white later on to brighten up the colors and to slightly tone down the cartoon look of it. He said he would do it free of charge if I wanted to come back later in the fall.

However, I'm not a tattoo artist so I don't really know how the white would look and if would improve the tattoos. I'm in love with how the tattoos look now.... Any suggestions?

Thanks for all and any help!

  1. They're great. Leave well alone - especially if you love how they look.

  2. No I think that it looks fine the way that it is. I love them!

  3. i think it looks good like that, i LOVE your tattoo

  4. i think you should leave it how it is now

you say you really like it now, and if you add white you may not love it AS much, so i think you should just leave it for now and see hoe looks in day light night light, and then decide, becuase white may look a little too bright

  5. It appears like he's already used white in it.  I think it looks really good the way it is.  Nice work.

I think if further down the road you think the colors need brightening, then have it touched up then, but it's bright enough already.

  6. the color looks good like it is, but if the artist insists that it will look better with white- why not listen to them. I bet they know what they are talking about.
