  1. No. Just no. If it is realistic looking, someone might make a mistake and shoot him. (OK, not likely to happen, but it could.)

The only kind of gun I would buy my kid is a water pistol, because you need engineering to make the pistol shoot properly.

If your child wants a gun, have him make one out of cardboard or something. This will be great for his imagination and artistic skills! And, it'll be a lot cheaper than buying some toy gun. You can spend the money on videos or games or books or something.

Rubberband guns can be slightly dangerous, but teach him gun safety (LOL, even with a gun like this!), and he'll have lots of fun and learn hand-eye coordination, too.

  2. well it kind of depends cause if he is violent then i dont know mabe it should just be water guns

  3. I also grew up with toy guns,if u worry it ,you can choose one that  electrical toy gun, maybe it's safe ,you might visit the list:http://www.sourcingmap.com/toy-super-sub...

  4. It's fine, just not one that looks or is colored realistically (for his safety and others).

Take the time when you give it to him to tell him about real guns (including paintball, bb, and airsoft in this category) and that there are real guns out there and that he shouldn't touch them unless he is with you or an adult you trust and is being taught about it. Also explain to him that if he finds something he thinks is a real gun he shouldn't touch it but get an adult.

Guns are important to learn about safely and if he is still interested in them when a bit older, the family plinking away with a .22 or bb gun can be a great bonding experience and hobby.

  5. Yes..if your child really wants one. It's best for the child to be curious... The bonus part is, if ur child is a war-crazed fanatic (like action cartoons) he'll get to "experience" one!!!

Plus, for roleplays, he can bring it when assigned.

  6. it will b good for him....but just explian whats it used 4 an how 2 properly use it

  7. it should be fine just teach him responsibility

  8. what would be really cool is to buy him a really cool water gun, those things rock. also a great thing to play with him.

  9. It's fine... kids at that age make toy guns out of anything - actually having a toy shaped like a gun makes it that much cooler.

  10. i have two younger brothers and playing with toy

guns is just a boy thing!me and all of my brothers have been playing with plastic firearms since we were little, and we are alright and we never got in any trouble,as long as u watch him with it and make sure he doesn't get to serious about it,like pointing them in peoples faces then there is nothing wrong with it...

  11. "Knowing is half the battle"

if your kids don't learn about guns from you, they will learn it from someone else eventually, whether its someone responsible or someone with a 12 pack of beer looking to shoot stuff off a fence.

And when that time happens you'll be hoping that your kid remembers the basics of guns safety, which does start young, with squirt guns and such.

I mean, it sounds like I'm making it a big deal, but think about the cigarette candies some of us had as a kid and how they effected us for years with the idea that smoking is okay, same thing with guns, except you as the parent should be the one to introduce them to it slowly with air softs and pellet guns and show them things like not to shoot people, don't aim at their face, stuff like that, stuff that their friends wont tell them when they get their hands on one of their parents guns and take it shooting out in a field or something.

Hope that makes sense, and helps :)

  12. It depends which way you look at it. I grew up with toy guns, graduated to BB guns around the age of 6. You have to teach them responsibility........

My parents did a good job, hunting was a good way.
