Question:

Should I Buy an iPhone 3G?

Cost doesn't really matter, I'm talking about:

-Sound quality

-Simplicity

-Durability

Is it easy to text with it? I currently own a Razr v3, and texting is no easy task.

Overall, what are the iPhone's pros and cons?

Thanks in advance.

  2. -sound quality.. terrible as was the original

-simplicity.. its a very easy to use phone

-durability... it has a 3.5" glass screen and plastic casing.. not durable at all

-texting.. have you ever texted on a full touchscreen device? it is horrible. You have no tactical or haptic feedback. Imagine texting on your razr without pressing the buttons. just lay your finger on it.

    pros-good looking device

    beautiful high resolution screen

    (sort of) smartphone

has a nice amount of features

    3.5mm headphone jack

    cons-It does nothing well

it has the highest defect rating of any phone on the market (dead pixels, yellow screens, cracking cases, terrible reception, off center screens, dust under screen, light leak.. google if you dont believe me)

non user replaceable batter (after 700 charges youll have to take your phone to apple, spend $85 + tax, and be without your phone for 3 days)

full touchscreen with no haptic feedback (haptic feedback is a movement in the device.. vibration)

full touchscreen with no tactical feedback (tactical feedback is feedback you can feel. this includes pushing a button, feeling the movement, then the click when its fully engaged)

html only internet browser that crashes frequently (no installable third party internet browsers)

    2mp camera with no options

very limited multimedia support (no avi, wmv, wma, etc)

internal memory with no memory card slot.

very limited bluetooth support.. no file sharing, stereo headphones, computer syncing, keyboards, etc

    no voice dialing

    no mms

no java (java is the most popular gaming platform on cell phones)

expensive plan (you must pay for 3g service even though you might not have 3g coverage)

no tethering (using it as a modem for a laptop)

    limited customization

The iphone is a very overhyped phone, and when compared to a quality phone, falls far short in every aspect.

If cost doesnt really matter, then look for a full qwerty phone such as the blackberry bold or nokia e71-2. Both are fairly expensive, but well worth it.

If you want a very nice feature packed phone, check the nokia n95 or nokia n96 (although i cannot recommend the n96 because we do not know of the call quality/battery life/ build quality). the n95 is the current perfect phone for 80% of people.

  3. Even though Cost isn't an issue,
