  1. Yes, I stretch before and after.  Jogging is hard on your knees and you can also get shin splints especially if you're walking or jogging on an incline.  Stretching can prevent tendinitis in your knees among other things so I would definitely recommend! :)

  2. Before you do any type of physical activity you should stretch. It gets your muscles loosened up.

  3. Static stretching can be counterproductive to your workout.  Let's look at the logic.  You can't stretch cold muscles so you do a little warmup which activates the muscle fibers.  Then, you start stretching which then relaxes the muscles.  THEN, you start working out at an even higher pace than your warmup on relaxed muscles.  This is a great recipe for injury:)  In fact, while stretching like the above has been proven to increase flexibility it also has been proven to decrease strength, power and speed.

Better thing to do is to warm up muscles by doing something active like jumping jacks, skips, jump rope, then do an active dynamic warm up with movements.  Look it up and you will get some ideas.  You can even just start off with a low speed on the treadmill for a few minutes, then start going faster.

After your workout is when you want to do your static stretching.  This will help relax and promote flexibility at the right time in you workout!

    Good Luck!

  4. you should stretch before you run.. first off because it loosens your muscles so you can run easier, 2nd because it helps you not be so sore the day after....

  5. YES DO EVEN IF YOU HATE IT JUST DO IT
