  1. don't bother. You have a warranty on the tv set to start with and appliances like this have a good track record especially sony. The extended warranty stuff is a racket to make more money. If something goes wrong with your tv set after a year

it is usually a lot cheaper to fix than 100. If it is really expense

it the picture tube it is cheaper to replace it with a new model.

I never buy extended warranty on anything.

  2. Yes I would.  We have a  Sony tv and we had to use our warranty.  Sony is pretty good about backing up their warranty. The amount you paid may not seem to be a lot but why spend it again if you don't need to.

  3. according to consumer reports most extened warranties are a rip off

  4. If you already have sony I would get the warranty beacause Sony has been having problems with there Electronics for the last year or so.

  5. Its completely up to you. TV's usually last for years and there's no need for a warranty. The only thing to keep in mind is if it happens that the tv that you buy comes with a factory defect. You should ask the store about their return policy, then make a decision. I never buy warranty for electronics, I guess I'm just confident that I am purchasing a good product. But if it gives you peace of mind, go for it!
