I'm going to move in a few months. Im leaving from FL to IL .....which is like 1,000 - 1,300 miles (if that matters). I have my whole apartment I'm moving which consists of a TV, couch, computer desk, and full bedroom set. I wanted to know which is cheaper? Should I rent a uhaul and move it myself or ship em out via FedEx, UPS, etc .........I also heard about PODs (Its the storage thing) but I heard they can ship your stuff if you like too. Im just looking the the cheapest BUT safest way. What in your opinion is the best way?

ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD HELP. THANK YOU

  1. I would agree with the POD idea.  If you are moving anytime around the 1st of a month, my experience with uhaul is they over book their vehicles.  So not only could you get stuck with a smaller vehicle or none at all, you could also get hit with a late fee if you are at all late returning the truck.  Use a pod and don't worry about driving!

  2. DO NOT use Fedex or UPS, I love them but they could damage your junk, so use a POD or Uhaul. I say POD because it would be easier for you. PODs are great! So cool. And they can store extra stuff you have that you do not have room for yet. Its a great company so check it out, but if its too expensive for you ( I have no idea what the price is) Then use Uhaul. I think it would be cheapest and safest for your items. SO Uhaul or POD, and Uhaul is cheaper and both are equally as safe. GOOD LUCK!!
