Should I Have My Xbox 360 Standing Up or Laying Down?

Laying down the console has a big vent open for more air circulation. But if you notice the bottom of the XBOX is very hot and so is the item its laying on. The heat can not radiate anywhere. Vertical its vice versa. The disk stays cooler also when vertical. But vertical you have a better chance of knocking it over and scratching the disk horribly. Make sure that it is in a secure place where it will not get bumped. I personally have mine laying down because its in an area where if its vertical it won't sit flat. If i had the choice it would be vertical.

well it dont realy matter but i think layng down is beter and all my 360,s  are laying down.

it doesn't really matter how you put it. just as long as the 360 and the power supply have good ventilation, you are okay

It doesn't matter really, but just incase i have mine lying horizontal. I think it supplies the 360 with more air so it doesn't overheat. But either way its all good

the console is designed to stand up or laydown. but if you look it you have it standing up a ventalation shaft is covered(at the bottom) So it is best to lay it on it's side.

Standing up allows both side to be ventillated so it is better in that sense.

Laying down is better for the disks though.

If it is lying down, make sure it isn't on carpet as dust can get sucked into the machine.

i  like laying down one cause less skertching on disc

theres no way for it to fll and when u have  it standing up one of the biggest vents on the right side  so if u standing up u block it

LAYING DOWN!! if it stands up there is a 60% chance that it will ruin your discs. laying down only a 10% chance of your discs getting scratched. i got these numbers from a microsoft website make sure it is laying down on a hard, dustfree surface
