Question:

Should I Major in Journalism or English?

Hey guys.

Okay, so I think I want to be a journalist (writer). Thing is, Journalism is a pretty narrow degree. Apparently, you can get hired as a journalist if you have an English degree, but I figure you wouldn't get all the classes in ethics and stuff. What do you think? Also, what exactly is a double major and does it cost more money?

  1. I am doing an English Major with a minor in Journalism (all the essential classes.) I also took beyond the core electives in economics/political science. I am going back to school for something else so yeah... I definitely agree on those who say don't do what you want for a career. Luckily I didn't go to law/med school and rack up tons of debt. The first time around I graduated relatively debt free, I just hated the field! (IT) Although I can do it... it's absolutely mind numbing and just made me end up quitting the jobs I had.
