My girlfriend and I have been dating for 3 years now since I was 14. We love each other very much and we've never argued with each other, and I'm thinking if I should propose to her when I'm older. So I was wondering if I should? My girlfriend has been my 1st and we've never broken up.

  1. You're only 17.. you need to get past a lot of stuff still. Graduate high school, go off to college and if your relationship can withstand that..then move in together. If you can survive this- then yes... but for now, just do a promise ring. My husband wanted to propose to me a year before he did, but his mom said promise ring. and he made the promise that we'd be engaged one day, but for now, a promise ring...and the next year, he proposed. Looking back, I'm glad he did it that way... it made sense.. when you're older- you'll understand. Completely. At the time, i wanted to marry him right away and I was only 17 too when we started going together... but I saw people get engaged after 9 months and marry, and you just tend to look at them like young and stupid...  so she'll appreciate if you take the time..  TIME makes it WORTHWHILE. trust me. I'm the girl that waited 4 years of dating (living together, sharing bank account, etc) and when he proposed, it was the right step and perfect in our relationship.

trust me....from a girl's view. trust me. wait.

  2. I just married my high school sweet heart 3 weeks ago.  I have been dating him since I was 14 and I am just about to turn 23.  He was also my one and only love.  It is definitely worth it and love is all that matters, not numbers.  You should wait until you are a little older.  We both did so much growing up in the last few years and you may not be the same person 3 or 4 years from now.  You probably have some really hard times ahead of you as a couple and if you make it through it then you know it's meant to be.  You should also make sure you are set financially and have a plan for the future.  We both made sure we went to college and had a solid career before we got married.  Good Luck!

  3. If you reaaaly love her and youd love to  be with ehr for the rest of ur life, YES you should, but dont do it now lol (: goodluck!

  4. If you guys last through college, propose to her.  Just make sure you propose after college, because college really tests the love of a couple, especially if you're going to different colleges.  People change during college, not always in good ways.

    But good luck :)

You guys seem to have a really great relationship.

  5. i say yes. your first true love never really dies. its a very sweet and innocent love. my advice is dont let it go, you will always regret it. you will get ppl that say you should go out and 'play the field' but it sounds like you have something very special. keep it going. and good luck to you.

  6. you maybe lucky enough to be one of the few that found the one on the first try... congratulations... now if things change remember it will be ok... but if they dont change i would wat about three more years when you are in your twenties and then do it... you are way to young to think about it ... who knows you could meet someone else and so could she... so give your self more time but if that doesnt happen then go for it !!!

  7. This is the sweetest question I have ever read on Yahoo Questions & Answers.

Of course you should!!!  Why lose a great thing?

My question: Am I invited to the wedding, uh hum?

  8. You're only 17 now so you may not realize this, but as good as not having ever argued may sound to you, arguments are inevitable in a relationship where there is sufficient emotional investment. If you're still walking on eggshells with each other so that you've never argued, I think it's wise to wait. Arguments don't have to be knock-down-drag-outs either. A discussion of something about which you disagree is technically an argument, even if you stay civil.

  9. Sounds like the PERFECT relatioship! something i would love to have someday. It also sounds like you guys have a great connection to not have argued in 3years. However, I can not make that decision of whether you shall propose or not. But I can say this: If in about 5 years when you have both gratuated from your professions, things are still going as well as they are now and NOTHING has changed. THEN GO FOR IT!!

  10. YES THE ANSWER IS YES!! if you truly, honestly, LOVE her you should

ABSOLUTELY  PROPOSE when you are OLDER!!

  11. You don't need to propose to her now...you can tell her that she's the ONE however...No need to commit at this point...make sure you have fun and enjoy each other....Take care... Hope you guys stay together!

  12. u're planning to get married soon? like 20?

i think its a little bit too young

  13. yeah

  14. Yes, a little older.

  15. if you guys love each other,,,then yes follow your heart,,,,,do it when the time seems right and them,,,maybe have a long engagement so you have time to save money and lots of time to plan a wedding,,,,,so yes propose when you feel the time is right,,,,,only you will know then the time is right

    best of luck

  16. You have SOOOOOOOO much more time to spend in this world before you settle down and get married.  If she's right for you now, she'll be right for you in about 5-7 years.  Slow down and take it easy.  Your early 20's are great years to spend single.  :-)

    Good Luck!

  17. i think you should wait until you're older. now i'm not one of those people that preach about doing things too young, however, i do believe that the time that people change the most is between 18 and 22. if you guys make it through this time, and still love each other as much as you do now, then there's no doubt that you should be married. good luck to you!

  18. If you and your girlfriend are going good then yeah you should. You shouldn't if you dont think everything is going to be all right.

  19. knock yourself out
