Should I Start Smoking Weed?

I really want to start smoking weed. I love listening to Pink Floyd,Bob Marley,Sublime, and stuff like that. I like to get drunk once in a while.

But I was wondering, is it worth the money? My main question is: Is it better and safer thand drinking??? Please help.

wow, funny that the people against it have to write so much to voice their opinions. be your own person make your own decisions and choices. you don't have an opinion till you try (it) and educate yourself. do you have a job interview that drug tests? if not ,why worry  about learning from your mistakes. Or you could just be cool by eating cheerios! lol

Safer than drinking, yes. Better, no, I don't think so -- that's really a matter of preference. More people drink than smoke, and that's true even in countries where both are legal.

As to your question, well, I'd say no, unless the alternative is heavy drinking. Then yes. But the first time you try it, you'll be taking a serious risk, just as you did the first time you had a drink. That's because you don't know how you will react to it and where it will lead you. You could just be an occasional smoker or even a daily smoker who isn't much impaired by it. You could also be one of the people who find it addictive or you could be one of the people who become lazy and stupid from it. And it's a serious gateway drug. There's just no way to know in advance.

It's funny when people dismiss weed as being bad and addictive, but don't say much about alcohol.  Just because alcohol is legal, doesn't make it ok.  Tell that to the mother who lost her child as a result of a drunk driver... alcohol is just as lethal, if not more than pot.

No don't smoke, smoking ruins your life, it's the biggest money-waster and horrible thing to do to your body. You'll damaged your brain cells, you can get all kinds of cancer, and heart problems, you can shorten the length of time you live, its morally wrong, and illegal, plus it's unattractive. Regardless if your music makes you think smoking is "cool" or "nice" or "awesomazing" or whatever you've got to think well am i prepared to practically kill myself from just wanting to chill out.

Also getting drunk it bad too, too much alchohal will damage your body ruin you bloodstream it'll kill you too just like weed will eventually. Trust me if you ever want to be successful in life you don't want to have any "driving while intoxicated" 's on your record, or the striking fact that you attended AA's, or rehab.

Don't s***w up your life, weed is bad for your body and for your mind and it's illegal, and dinking till you get drunk is just as bad, try and be healthy and eat cheerio's or something, it lowers your cholesterol, but seriously don't because once you start you never stop and your life just gets worse and worse and it's a dark path you just don't want to travel down.

Trust me it's not worth it, it really isn't at all to get drunk or get wasted, smoking and drinking no matter what you drink or smoke (martinies, scotch, beer, wine, etc, or marajunana, crack, meth, weed etc.) they're all bad for you, so please don't do them, lead your life healthier make right choices, why change your life so dramatically and making it worse because you like to listen to that stuff? It doesn't make much sense, so I suggest don't do either.... live healthier.

It is illegal but is in my opinion better than drinking. Everything should be done in moderation. Bob Marley and Pink Floyd should not be the reason you start smoking.

Just because you listen to certain music doesn't mean you should smoke weed. And no, it's not work the money and it's just not worth it at all. Trust me, I dated a pothead, and I was one myself, and it's just lame. And they're both not safe at all. So just don't smoke the weed. It's completely lame.

Your taste in music has nothing to do with this decision. I don't really understand why you brought it up... When I smoked, I didn't really like listening to the typical stoner music like that. It doesn't matter that you like to get drunk every once in a while either; alcohol and marijuana have different effects. Some people prefer one over the other.

Anyway, I always thought it was worth the money and in a way it's safer than drinking if you stay home. If you go out somewhere stoned, it can be hard to stay safe.

Try it with a friend and then decide whether you should "start" smoking weed.

Marijuana can be expensive, but In my opinion it is soo much better than drinking, and no, it does not lead to harder stuff.  I also say that weed doesn't make you stupid, it just so happens that alot of stupid people smoke weed.

My ex boyf worked in a mental institution, and some of the patients were there because of weed.

Weed is a time burner.  You generally do nothing on the stuff.  Just kinda sit around at home then go to sleep.  Next thing you know your 30.  Gravol pills are cheaper, legal, and also put you to sleep.  With that said moderation is the key, unless you have an addictive personality.  If you do have one you MUST be aware and do a lot of self managing. I know a lot of intelligent people who occasionally partake, lawyers(scum), doctors, nurses, engineers but they manage it.  Things are more in tune with weed, but is it worth it?  If it is the difference between you being wealthy, happy and retired at 40, or still living in moms basement at 40?  My advice is if you do partake, don't leave the house.  Once you walk out the door you cease to control your environment.

Don't start smoking weed. You can get in all kinds of trouble and ruin all of your job prospects. Anyone you are with that smokes weed gets arrested along with you, and then you are associated with those people by the cops and you are immediately listed as a potential dealer.

people may say weed is bad, its a drug and shouldnt be done, but the simple truth is its harmless, completely harmless bob marley smoked it for year and years and years, about 5 months before he died he had a checkup at the doctors, (relating to the tumor he died of) and apart from the tumor he was perfectly fine. Theres actually even talk of legalising weed because its good for medical reasons.

You're approaching the subject way too scientifically and practically. Just light up a spliff, try it and if you like it carry on and if you don't then chalk it up to experience. Like any drug (legal or illegal) it has its good points and bad. It can make you feel relaxed and happy or it can make you feel anxious and paranoid. You won't know til you try it but don't look at it as 'an alternative to alcohol'.

Smoking weed is so dumb. I see that as one of the most unattractive things in a guy. Drinking isn't good either. Drink in moderation, even I do casually. You can listen to any kind of music without smoking weed.  Don't start it is totally unattractive, stinky and a waste of money!!  You should stick to good ole' beer drinking!!
