This is my senior year, and my entire highschool life i've taken all honors and ap classes. THis year, however, i am faced wit the challenge of deciding whether i should keep myself extremely busy or semi busy. this is the schedule i would like to have :

SEMESTER 1:

Calc AP

Engl AP

BIO 2 AP

CHEM 2 AP

Band/ gym (really easy)

SEMESTER 2:

Fin and econ

Free Block_

BIO 2 AP

CHEM 2 AP

Band/ gym ( really easy)

Now everything is fine for me except i am not sure if i could handle the first semester with these 4 AP classes. I don't think i would take all the AP exams , but i would like to get A's in these classes. my other option is this:

SEMESTER 1

Stats ( or free block)

ENG 4 AP

Bio 2 ap

che 2 ap

Band/ gym

Semester 2 :

fin and ec

Free block

BIO 2 AP

chem 2 AP

band/ gym

Anyhow the only extracurriculars i have on top of these classes is the band. Which we ony rehearse on tues nights andperform on fri and sat and occa sund. Do you THINK i can manage this? should i TAKE CALC AP or NOT?

I want to go into the premed program at swarthmore....just to give you an idea... i want to be a doctor

  1. AP chem is the most difficult AP class to take...it has a 10% pass rate in its exam. AP bio is easy as h**l cause its kinda interesting. AP cal is easy if ur good at math. And AP english just has a whole shhh if reading and writing (essays)

But don't take AP chem...its hard as h**l and time consuming. The only good thing about it is that colleges like that uve taken AP chem. though. But the rest is up to u.

  2. Be careful that you don't overload yourself.

The most I would take it 2 AP and a couple of honors classes or you will crash and burn.

Also, no offense, but I would have started taking college courses by now at a community college to get some requirements done early. You can count them for high school credit as well as college credit. One quarter of English in the community college is equal to one year of English in high school. It could free up your schedule to let you take some more fun classes if you like.

If you want to stick with the AP classes, then you'll for sure learn a bit more than the community college, but you'll have to study incredibly hard and have to get a 4 out of 5 rating to get college credit and pay $75 per test or something like that... when you could have got it done to begin with.

When I was a senior I did 2 morning classes at the community college, English and History the first Quarter, and then English and Psychology the second quarter, and it saveed me a few thousand dollars and it transferred into my 4 yr university and I didn't have to take it like everyone else. So, I had 7-8, and 8-9 classes,,, and then I would come to my high school and start 3rd period-8th period and do it that way. Counselors should be able to direct you.

  3. I think you might be over your head with all these AP classes. You don't want to take too many and find yourself overwhelmed. This is your senior year. Relax a bit, and do what you can handle. Don't try to overextend yourself.
