Question:

Should I Tell My Parents What My Step-sister Has Done?

Long story short, my 12 year old step sister confessed to me that she had been sneaking out of the house to visit her 19 year old boyfriend. She made out with him a lot and one night they had s*x. She wasn't raped but i feel the authorities need to be notified. I tried to convince her to tell our parents but she won't. She has promised to consider telling them but so far the answer is no. I want to tell but if i do she'll know i did and never talk to me again. My fear is that if she gets in any worse trouble she won't want to tell me because i ratted her out on this one. I don't know if i should tell or not. Please help!

  1. You should most definitely tell them. shes only 12 hes 19 he knows what he is doin is wrong and its very much statutory rape. shes too young to even be thinking about this stuff. you need to tell the parents ASAP and dont worry about her getting mad she'll get over it once she finds a guy at school her own age. if not sooner shes young yall will have alot more fights but this one she will appreciate you for in the future.

  2. She is 12 you are morally obligated to tell. I would want to know if she were my child.

As far as her being upset with you. She'll get over it. Your doing what is BEST for her. 19 and 12... He is a pedophile. What can a 12 year old child do for a 19 yr old man... Tell them.

  3. i think you should tell your parents to protect her because she might be afraid of what they will sya, if you talk to them and tell them without her there, they could even say to her that they saw her sneak out or something, that way she wont know you told.

  4. technically it is rape (statutory) and if she has started PMS is would tell because she could get pregnant, and she is to young to know what its like to care for a child.. but if she hasnt started i would just leve it alone  :\

  5. Try one last time to get her to tell; this time, you'll go with her to tell on him for moral support.  You need to get this through to her head that what he did was illegal, and is considered statutory rape.  Right now your stepsister won't get it, because she's flattered/emotionally attached to the guy.  You know how it is, when you're that young, you'd be flattered by the fact that an older guy is paying attention to you--you wouldn't think that the guy's a pervert like you would if you were a bit older.

Your stepsister is probably afraid that she'll get into trouble (and she very well might), but you need to stress how it's more the other guy who needs to get into trouble.  Try to make her see it from the other side--that a 19-year-old who sleeps with a 12-year-old is a pervert, that he has issues, that it's not flattering at all.  If she can see it from there, she might not feel any loyalty to him and there might be more of a chance of telling.

If you've tried that to no avail, you need to tell your stepsister that you're going to tell on her FOR HER OWN GOOD.  Because no matter what happens, this matter cannot remain silent.

I hope for the best outcome,

  6. s*x with a minor is rape. Tell your parents. She obviously has problems and needs some serious help.

  7. you should tell she might hate you for it now but she will thank you in the long run. what kind of 19 year old wants to be with a 12 year old he cant be up to no good.   good luck with whatever you choose to do
