He gives up Carlos Quentin, Garret Atkins, and Mark Teixeira, and I have to give up Chipper Jones, Alex Rios, and Albert Pujols.

  2. NO !!!!!!!!!!!

  3. I wouldn't do it.

I mean just look at the guys you are giving up in Pujols and Chipper Jones. They're both among the major league leaders in batting average, and Pujols is looking as good as he's ever been. That's saying a lot for a guy who was drafted first overall in some leagues last year. Then you look at Rios, he's been stealing bases and also has a respectable average.

Teixeira's average isn't anything amazing, Atkins has been struggling, and Quentin hasn't played a full season in the majors, so I'd expect to see his numbers start to decline a bit down the stretch.

    Pujols is better than Tex

    Chipper is better than Atkins

    Quentin is better than Rios

So you only upgrade one position, and that's in the outfield which is an easy place to upgrade.

  4. There is no way you should do that trade.  If you just look at the guys you're trading.

If you compare Chipper Jones with Garret Atkins, it's not even fair.  Chipper's batting 350 or around there and Atkins isn't bad, but he's not batting even close to that number.

Quentin and Rios are relatively closer except for the fact that Quentin has 20 more homeruns than Rios, but Rios also has 30 steals to Quentin's 7.  That's relatively fair and it depends on what each team needs.

This is definitely the most unfair part of the trade.  Mark Teixeira for Albert Pujols.  Now with Pujols you have to remember that he was on the DL for quite a while and he's still batting 340-360 with 25 homeruns.  Teixeira isn't a bad player, he just can't compare to Pujols.
