Should I accept this man's challenge?

Question

A local dignitary has set his heart on obtaining my wife. Though I am not totally opposed to this, it would be somewhat of an inconvenience if he took her off me. So, he has suggested we fight for her over a game of Monopoly. I've always been rather top-hole at that game but if I lose, my wife goes to him and I shall have to find another one.

Any sneaky Monopoly techniques?

about the only way you could get rid of her is by shooting her even then the lead would probably bounce off

If he appears to be doing rather too well, you can always invoke the 'London Earthquake' rule - the one that wipes out all his West End hotels (Park Lane, Mayfair, Bond Street  etc.) but conveniently does not affect your rather measly housing assets in the East End. As he is uninsured, he has to forfeit all his capital (to you of course) and sell all the properties at bargain basement prices. If he can't meet your price, jail him for two hours.

I must say though that this all this seems like a lot of trouble. Personally, I would be very happy to have some local Johnny take the old boiler of my hands any time...no questions asked.

on the first lap that you can buy stuff buy absolutely everything you land on do it til your more or less penniless. its a great spoiling tactic. and leaves you in a great bargaining position later on. failing that ply him with drinks laced with bromide. your wife will soon return when he is unable to perform his manly duties.
