  1. Get to working a bit there to find out how you actually like to work at the animal shelter. You have an approximate idea how long you will be doing volunteer work doing there for and they will also see how well you get on with the animals and with the tasks they give you then when you have worked there a month you could tell them that you really like it and would like to work there full time. I would ot say anything earlier. After a month you have a good idea if that is really what you would like doing and they .. the staff, know you well by then and know if you would fit into their team x*x

  2. When you meet them, I would just say, I really would like to work here someday and keep making little hints like that every now and then and when you decide you really do want to work there, ask someone about how it can happen.

  3. Volunteering at a place where you want to work is really helpful to getting a job there.  I am doing that this summer and I am getting to the people and know how things run there.  I think that you should go there and get to the people and once then know who you are just ask them when they are hiring.  The people who you will be working with should know this also so if you have a break with them ask them as well.

  4. I would.  It never hurts to ask.  I would just ask if there are any full or part time openings (whatever you are looking for).  Maybe wait until the end of the day and let them know how much you enjoyed working with the animals.  If they say not right now ask if you can put in an app just in case something becomes available.

    Good Luck!

  5. Wait until you've worked there a week or so and you can reasonably say you know what the place is about.  Then tell people you'd enjoy working there full time and ask if you can apply for a job.
