Hey all,

I am not sure if i want to ask for a promotion. You can usually inquire about a promotion after 6 months of employment. My company has made exceptions before. I've been given numerous awards and compliments by my boss's boss. My questions is should i wait for the 6 months or should i just go for it? A position has opened up that i reallllly want and if i wait for the 6 month mark it will be gone. p.s. Ive made a half million dollars for the company thus far.

  1. Given your performance and accomplishments, it is probably not a bad idea to ask about that position.  Best of luck to you.

  2. HURRY go for it,run for it and dont look back.lol. Honestly,it seems as if they really like you,so if I was you,I would definitely ask for a promotion (Take a risk). Be confident about yourself.(Id seen this episode in Tyra Banks show where the girl wanted a promotion and was so scared to ask her boss for it and...) Make sure you tell him or her your ready for the position and have put a lot of yourself into the company. (Oh yeah wondering what happened with the girl?she got the PROMOTION!!! YAY she tried but was real nervous and all they asked for was more confidence) Good fortune to you and your career.Hope I was able to help!!!

  3. Say something like " I was wondering if I could try the promotion or if I should wait until my 6th month mark. " something like that.
