I live in a 3 bedroom apartment, and one of the tenants (i've only known for a week) is in a frat, and a frequent party-goer; whereas, i hardly ever get invited/go to parties.....So my question is,,,would it be out-of-place to ask my roomie if i could attend one of his parties some night?

  1. if you are good friends then no. its not a big deal. but if you dont really hang out with this guy and then it might be a lil random of you to ask him something like that. but i mean whats the worst that he could say... no?? its not going to kill you and life would indeed go on.

  2. If you have only known him for a week, I would consider it rude to ask! You have to establish your friendship with other people and find out how you interact before you stress it in other situations, right? This is the same thing. I have had a roommate since April, and we are JUST getting to understand when we need space, or when its acceptable to ask things like this.

You know what I would do? Befriend him and get him to ask YOU to come! You come across a lot better if he asks you, and you don't look like a needy freak who has no life of your own.

That is one thing you absolutely don't need when you are living with a mutual friend. I am best friends with my roommate, but I can't spend ALL of my time with her, because he have a different relationship (ahaha yuck it up not like that) than me and my other friends.

It may be okay depending on what he is like to ask him, but not this soon! It comes across VERY freaky when people pretend to be best friends that quickly, or you look like a jerk or moocher if you make it apparent you only want him for the party 'in'.

  3. If he is a true friend; then he would invite you himself.  Give it some time and see if he eventually invites you to a party or let you in on a party.  Asking might be a little awkward feeling and might sound strange.
