Should I be a Photographer?

Every time I take a picture of my friends or family they say I should be a Photographer and they get excited about how neat and perfect I snap the picture of them and it gets really annoying and I had other plans on becoming a 2D Animator and a cartoon drawer but I don't know which one should I do because I am still practicing my drawing skills and people keep telling me I should be a Photographer.

Can anyone help me with this and tell me how much money does a Photographer or a 2D Animator make because this is getting confusing, I would like to start getting into the Cartoon business but everyone tells me I should be a Photographer and its driving me crazy.

I would appreciate the help person who has the best answer is awesome.

Do what makes you happy. You could always be a 2D Animator as your real job, and have photography as a hobby. And if you use photography as a hobby, you can still sell your photographs.

The money varies on a) how good you are and b) how you market your items. I would find it helpful to see some of your photos.

You shouldn't depend on people for what you want to be, if you want to be a photographer be a photographer, if you want to be a cartoonist / animator be that... It doesn't matter because its you making the decision... Well let's see, if your doing well in photography is your heart set into it, or do you want to do cartooning and put your heart into that, it's up to you...

Just because someone suggests you a profession does not mean you should do it. It sounds like you have more passion for animation. The salary for both animators and photographers vary. The average salary for animators are between 30,000-50,000. Animators who work for Pixars can actually make 75,000. The salary for photographers is a bit tricky to say. Freelance photographers make about 10,000-20,000. Stock photographers and studio photographers make a bit more money. Fashion photographers are paid the most between 50,000-100,000. However, how much you make should not determine what profession you should take. Goodluck!

If you enjoy it then yes. If you don't like it then don't bother.

If you want to become a 2D Animator, then do it!  If you want to explore photography, you don't have to become a professional photographer.  You can simply keep it as a hobby!

id go for the cartoon business. its probably more money. but if i were you id do both. you could always take professional photos as a hobby
