Question:

Should I be a waiter at Texas Roadhouse, O'charley's or Cracker Barrel?

Hello,

I have a delimma. I have been offered waitering jobs at Texas Roadhouse, O'charley's and Cracker Barrel and now I have to choose one. can I get any advice on which one is the wisest choice.

I guess that the biggest difference between the three (the wages are the same 2.15) is that you get to keep all of the tips at Cracker Barrel but you must bus your own tables. Is this more efficient with time and money? has anyone worked at these restaurants and how do the limits on how many tables you get work?? Thank you so much for your responses!!

  1. I'm in the same boat.  I haven't been offered jobs yet, but I've been searching for a server job and I found one person who claimed to be working at a "nice steakhouse" and a Cracker Barrel and made better money at the Cracker Barrel.  See the link I listed in "source."

  2. Texas road house would be fun! Seeing as their food is better than all of these other choices you will get a better tip. And the food is a bit more pricy so theres another reason why you may get  a bigger tip.

  3. Well i kno at texas road houe you get to sweep peanuts off the floor for hours and at o charleys it seems to be working for my friend christian so idk

  4. Texas Roadhouse..... If you are good at your job and give a 100% then I would think this is probably the BEST choice. I know I tip very well when I go there if I like the service. I always tip better when the server makes sure my coffee cup is never empty for too long!!

O'Charley's.... I would say definately NOT.  The customers are very preppy and if you do not treat them as such you may and up with many PENNY tips.

Cracker Barrel...Good place to go eat but not so great for monies.  Can be kindof a drag working there compared to a steak house.

Good Luck and before you accept any position take the time out to pray about it first:)

  5. texas roadhouse. time goes by so fast because they are always busy!  you will get great tips there also if you give 110% :)

    good luck

  6. texas roadhouse i think might give you opportunity for larger tips per table.

    cracker barrel second choice.

  7. Both Cracker Barrel & Texas Roadhouse are always busy so your tips will probably end up evening out, and cleaning off your own tables shouldn't be such a hassle at Cracker Barrel.

I guess you have to decide which environment you would enjoy working in more.  Cracker Barrel is much more touristy, quieter, and probably has a larger older population that attends it. And of course you have the uniform to wear.

At Texas Roadhouse you do get to wear jeans, which is always a plus, it is much louder though, probably much more crowded too.  Everything will always be fastpaced around Texas Roadhouse though so time will fly.  Also you do have to learn to dance at the Roadhouse.

  8. texas roadhouse!!
