Question:

Should I be concerned? Is this normal? TTC and strange cramps?

according to my chart, I possibly conceived on the 17th. Everything up until this point has felt normal. Regular cramps started around the 18th or 20th. Tonight, I am having sharp pains on my right side about an inch or 2 below my bellybutton. I've never felt anything like this. Its not a terrible pain but enough to leave me very uncomfortable.

Should I be concerned about this? Has this happened to anyone else while ttc?

  1. Hi Raine,

What you are experiencing could be any number of things. When us women are trying to conceive we start to tune into our bodies with such detail that anything out of the ordinary comes to our attention very quickly. Your cycle might normally have these niggles but you are more aware of them this time...or perhaps this time you are experiencing more discomfort just because.

However, there is such a thing called 'implantation pain'. When the fertilised egg embeds itself well into the wall of the uterus it can sometimes cause pain like you are describing. You will discover many a resource that tells you this does not exist but you will also hear that it does indeed occur and many women report it happening in the very cycles they did fall pregnant with.

I hope this is implantation pain, and that your dream is coming true for you this month.

    Lots of luck to you.

  2. The same thing happened to me last week!

I hope your pregnant & every thing is well...

I'm still waiting to find out if i'm pregnant!

I know this isn't an answer to your Q's! But good luck

  3. this happened to me a few days before i got my period.  i read on the net (forgot which site though) that when you have cramps, it's possible that you are ovulating.
