I live in Alabama. I'm wondering how much of the weather I will get if Gustav hits New Orleans. Does anyone know?

  1. it depends where you live in Alabama. If you live near the north then don't be too concerned. If you live near the coast I guess a bit concerned. But here are the top chances of where it'll hit.

    1. Louisiana

    2. Texas gulf Coast

    Not much of Alabama

  2. Tropical storm force winds now extend 70 miles out and hurricane force winds 170 miles. You should, absolutely be prepared by this point or finishing. I live in extreme western Florida panhandle and am almost as ready as I could be.

  3. Living in Florida and underestimating Fay (water leaked in my house and soaked my carpet). Everybody that is in the path (not just the immediate path) must prepare.

Prepare hurricane supplies, insurance papers, emergency numbers, etc. Be safe rather than sorry.

  4. The winds are always worse on the east side of the eye.

I live in the Mobile area also. We need to get ready for the worst, and pray.

    Been through four major hurricanes.

  5. duh, turn on the tv.

  6. You can see the projected path of the storm, and find links to local TV and newspaper coverage, live streaming webcams in the affected areas, preparation guides, plus links to the National Hurricane Center coverage of the storm on http://www.USAMediaGuide.com

  7. Follow the track here: http://www.noaa.gov/
