I wanna step on these guys but everyone reminds me that the Chinese say they bring good luck. Are they harmless to my furniture?

  1. They eat everything!  You can capture them and put them outside, or kill the little guys.  Get rid of them.

  2. They have the potential to harm your furniture - crickets each pretty much anything (including wood, fabric, paper, regular food, etc.), not to mention the fact that if you just let them live in your house it could eventually turn into a major infestation (they can lay thousands of eggs that take a year to hatch, so you wouldn't even notice at first either).

Of course, stomping on them would be cruel - and it's true that in Chinese culture they are lucky little creatures.  I'd say that in order to err on the safe side and not muck up your karma you should just put it outside when you see one, and thoroughly clean your house to remove any eggs that may be around.  Live in harmony, but don't let them take over! :o)

    Good luck & take care.

  3. Oh, for crying out loud, stomp the c**p outta the little wing-scrapers! Or do you want to be kept up all night?

  4. hard to see but what do other people in your area do when crickets get noisy?

I personally leave them alone& they melt away soon.enuf.
