My friend is currently very ill. And due to her not having health insurance we can't take her into the ER. I don't know what to do...she looks very ill, she has a very high fever since last night of 103. It goes down to like 100.4 but goes back up to 103. She's been putting towels to bring it down and it wont. She kept on groaning in her sleep saying she has very sharp stabbing pains and severe cramps. She keeps on vomiting as well. And she is on her period. She said it was heavy last night. To me it sounded like possible miscarriage. Does anyone know what it is? Thanks...It's URGENT!!!

  1. No one but a doctor will know what it is. At the every least, get her into a free clinic. She needs to be seen.

In the meantime, lukewarm baths and sipping on water or sucking on ice cubes will help her.

  2. With the very heavy bleeding and fever this makes me think of ectopic pregnancy.  Your friend needs to get checked out ASAP.  Miscarriage and appendicitis are also possible - both of which are serious medical conditions which need to be resolved.  With the fever and vomiting she also is at serious risk for dehydration.  Please take her to an ER now!

  3. Insurance or No Insurance, when its something with sharp stabbing pains and vomitting it cannot be good. If you want her to be healthy I would get her there no matter what..

  4. you can still go to the er. they are not allowed to refuse to see you because of insurance. i recently had gillian barre. i did'nt have insurance either but the hospital has to see you. it sounds like she may have a ruptured cyst. she needs to get to the hospital now.

  5. you won't know until you  take her to the hospital.....did she recently have an abortion?....she might be bleeding because of mood swings or stress.......i suggest u take her to a E.R with ur insurance...thats wat friends are for

  6. Sounds like either a possible miscarriage or a kidney stone. Kidney stones she needs to go to the doctor. Miscarriage can do the same, since it's endangering the mother. I think there's no choice but for her to go to the hospital. I dont' know any herbs that will help that..

  7. Could be a miscarriage. Or it could be TSS (toxic shock syndrome). Which you can get from bacteria spreading as a result of keeping a tampon in too long. With a temperature of 103 you really should take her to the E.R. Most hospitals are good at working with patients who don't have health insurance to try to figure payment options out. I hope everything works out.

  8. severe cramps can mean appendicitis.

definitely not period pains unless someting is horribly wrong.

no matter how much it costs you need to get her to a hospital.

leaving it would make it worse

    good luck

  9. Take her to the ER asap in my opinion.  The emergency room can not turn u away for no insurance.  I wouldnt take any chances.

  10. Wow. That doesn't happen when your on your period...but if shes sexual active and had a miscarriage then I can understand the heavy blood flow...but other then that I don't know, this is very serious and she should get medical attention ASAP!

  11. Take her to the ER. They are obligated to treat you regardless of your ability to pay (health insurance). They will most likely admit her to the hospital and do blood tests.

  12. She should be taken to the ER. They can deal with the health insurance and money issues after she's taken care of. Her health should be a priority over insurance issues. They can find different plans for her to help pay for it.

  13. If she is using tampons - it could be TSS - be careful!!!!! TSS is Toxic Shock Syndrome. Tampon should be URGENTLY removed from v****a!!!!! Read everything about TSS below.

  14. no u need to got to the doctor now matter what it cost she could die!!

  15. Appendix???

    Very bad cramps??

    Take her to the doctor.
