Question:

Should I be worried about having a baby at 36?

I am 36 yrs old and have already had 3 healthy children. My youngest is 4 years old now. I hear so much about having kids after 35 being dangerous. My 2nd husband is wanting at least one of his own, and if it weren't for my age, I wouldn't hesitate. What do you think?

  1. i am 38 years old, and expecting my daughter any day now, and everything is going good so far, my baby is healthy. and all is well with me. the midwife is happy at the  progression. and as long as your healthy, then why not  have a  baby? i see people having babies in their 40's these days.

  2.   One can hear about any kind of opinion. If you're healthy, have one if you wish.

  3. I think its perfectly fine!

These days alot of people have children later, even after 40 years of age. People say it is a higher chance of miscarrage when your a bit older, but be healthy and happy and im sure youll be fine!

good luck i hope you get pregnant!

  4. you are 36 very young but when your son/daughter is 10 you're going to be 46 and when he/she is 20 you'll be 56  its better now than later  ....happy to help you wishing for your baby a healthy life....

  5. I'm also 36 and as healthy as I was at 30! Many women have children in their late 30's and even 40's. As long as your healthy carrying a child shouldn't be a problem.  Ask your doctor if you're really concerned. Good Luck!

  6. Probably not, though the risk of both miscarriage *AND* Down's Syndrome increase after age 35.  Down's Syndrome can be diagnosed in utero by a test called amniocentisis.  The amniotic fluid removed for the test will be rapidly replaced, so no need to worry about amniotic fluid depletion.
