Should I be worried about letter from Ny State Tax requesting my Itemizied Deductions?

Have not received my refund in 4 months. I called today and they said a letter was sent - that I did not get. They are sending me another one. Is this request routine. What can I expect?

I wouldnt necessarily worry but respond to the letter as soon as possible. Never postpone it.

Sounds like you're being audited.  Either that or you claimed itemized deductions and didn't attach the appropriate form.
