Should I be worried about the lead in the cord of my clothes iron?

On the cord of my iron it has a warning label that says to wash your hands after handling because the cord contains the chemical lead. Is this something I need to be concerned about? Should I get another iron? I only use it maybe once a week. Also, if there was lead in the cord would washing my hands after touching really do anything? Help.

I am not sure. One time we bought this joy stick for our computer and it said the same thing and we just too a warm damp towel and wiped the cord it of and didn't worry about it after that. Also Christmas lights say that a lot too. If you are really worried get another iron or wash your hands after you touch the cord!!
