My daughter says she's not ready to drive yet, even though she's got her driving permit and completed driving lessons. She's 18 years old. She says by Spring 2009 she will feel ready. Should I worry? She's graduated from HS, going to college, has a car, but isn't ready to drive. (Getting her through HS was easier than getting her on her own to drive.

  1. no you should be worried if she is driving without being ready.................

  2. Most teenagers WANT to drive, yet she's not ready at 18 years of age? Has she stated a reason for not being ready? Does she have issues with any certain aspect of driving? If someone is having to drive her around, then yes, you're owed an explanation.

I suggest digging a little deeper, maybe asking her driving instructor if she had issues or concerns while driving.

  3. No.................it sounds like she is a very smart person that will know when she is ready, dont push the issue......

  4. Did she get good grades in driver's ed?

Are you a good driver or a bad example?

Has she witnessed accidents or incidents that might make her fear driving?

Does she know how expensive auto insurance is?

  5. wait.its better she is confident then, rather sitting in jail due to she killed someone.
