I have gotten a few phone calls for a couple of months for a certain couple. Today, I received a letter in the mail about a debt with their names and my adress! Should I be concerned about identity theft?? Is this just a really strange coincidence?

  1. In addition to the good suggestions below, I would recommend that you go on line to one of the credit reporting agencies and ask for your free credit report. It might be nothing, but it could be someone trying to steal your identity. It's better to be safe than sorry.

  2. report it to the police and to your local post office.

write on the envelope return to sender, addressee unknown

and also get an answering machine and screen your calls. delete the calls that have nothing to do with you, don't even speak with anyone concerning those people.

  3. Don't worry about it, it's only mistake like a computer glich. Every thing should correct it self soon all you have to do is log off and reboot the computer.

  4. No.  They just lied and gave out a wrong address on purpose.  Probably for fear of reposession.
