If you know anything about this field, do you suggest I pursue a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics? I am thinking about pursuing a bachelors degree in this, but am a little concerned about job opportunities available with this degree? I would love any information/suggestions that anyone has about this field! Thanks :-)

  1. The job ops are endless for a dietitian. However once you complete your bachelor's degree in dietetics you must complete a 8-12 month internship. This internship is HIGHLY competitive. If your gpa is lower than a 3.5 and you do not have work experience (diet aide, volunteering, food service experience), then you will not get an internship. And without the internship it is impossible to become a dietitian. I just graduated with a degree in dietetics, and did not get an internship. Even with over 2000 hours of experience my gpa was only a 3.0. In fact, only 5 out of the 50 girls in my graduating class actually got one. I am reapplying for them after getting more experience, so i am keeping my fingers crossed. I am not trying to discourage you. You just have to be highly motivated and willing to sacrifice a lot to become a dietitian.
