OK, so... you're probably thinking, what the h**l is he talking about?

Well, my family, both father and mother are frencg and I am one too!

But, my parents (well..dad) got a job offer in New York City when I was about 2 or 3 years old...and I've grown up in NY from the age of 3 to 13..That's 10 long years! I've loved each and every one, and have never considered moving back to France..NY is my home, in fact I dont even have that annoying french accent, im 100% new yorker baby! XD anyway.. Then when I'm 13 my dad decides to go back to France..so we do, then after 1 year we move to Hong Kong..now I'm here in HK but in a year or so me and my family are moving back to NY.

Since I visited my french hometown and I've seen that i am nothing like the people there and they dont like me anyway...

I figured NYC is my real home! I spent most of my life there anyway! btw. now im 16

So I figured, hey when I'm there why dont I take the american citizenship test and become american? right?

  1. This is corny but :" home is where the heart is".

Whatever you decide to do take time to think about it.

If you feel in your heart that you want to be an American Citizen; then that would be great. Land of the Free !!

  2. I think you have to be 18 for naturalization, but good luck if you decide to go for it.  I'm not fond of the big city myself...but many people love it there.

  3. do what ever you want...

become an American...and see your house gets blown up!

become a French and see yourself judge and criticized by Americans.

People like you shouldn't forget where you originated from, you are still young so you don't understand.

Its sort of like a black man becoming a white man, loves being a white man and doesn't want to go back being black, and totally forgets who he truly was.

As the old adage goes, "home is where the heart is", and your's is obviously in NYC.

By all means, take the exam.

There's no other place I'd rather be.
