I'm at about the time where I really need to decide what I want to do and I think that primary school teaching is where I might want to go. What do current primary school teachers think? Is it an awesome job? What are the advantages and disadvantages?

Thankyou :)

  1. if you like children then its a good place for you...some people cant take the pressure of watching over young children...but if you do go for it...you'll find it rewarding

  2. one warning .. low paycheck !!!!!

  3. As for the pay...it depends on the state your in and if you have a Masters degree.  The northern and eastern states pay pretty well.

  4. Primary teachers would say that Kindergarten is the most difficult level to teach and 3rd grade to 6th are manageable and more rewarding.  Of course, opinions vary from person to person.  Is it an awesome job?  If you call it a job more than likely it is something you do not enjoy doing but get paid... now if you call it a career it is an awesome thing to do on a daily basis!

The most rewarding thing I have experienced is seeing my students years later as professionals, especially when they work side-by-side with me and tell me I inspired them to become a teacher!

The disadvantage might be the pay and benefits, but that depends in what state you live in.  But if you love what you do... pay may not be an issue.
