June 6- Had a campout with 5 girls in the neighborhood and Mandy. Was woken up at 2:00 in the morning to a crash. Rush out of the tent to find Marcus friend had knocked down our light pole and was stuck up on the sewer thingy. The girls were all very frightened. The cops came and a girl was arrested for a DUI. Apparently she thought my yard was a road. Luckily no one was hurt the sewer stopped them from running us over in our sleep. This could have been very bad.

Saturday night is our 3rd annual luau/campout and I will have thirteen 8 year olds sleeping in 2 tents. My lot manager gave me permission to block off the dead end at our next campout after the last incident.

However the guy whos friends crashed into my yard may get mad and yell about it because, well he always gets mad and has something to say about everything.

Should I block off the road and cause another argument with him. Because you know blocking off the road is making a major statement. or Not block it off? The chances of a car running through the yard again are really slim.

  1. do it anyways

  2. I can't really picture what your street and/or yard looks like.  How about you put up those reflective flag thingy near your yard, so cars coming down don't mistake it for a road?

It's probably a freak accident, and they were drunk you know.

  3. if its a dead end, and you have permission, block it, if he gets mad tell him to keep his drunk friends off the roads and  he wont have to worry about it.

  4. I don't know where you are but if it's a public road, you need a permit to block it off.

  5. No, you can't do that. Even if your lot manager gave you permission for it, it's not your property (or his). It's municipal property (city-owned), so you have no authority. You can't block the road.

  6. I think I'd block it off just to be on the safe side.  Let the guy rant and rave, he sounds like a lunatic anyway and its not up to him, its up to the manager and he said its ok.
