Question:

Should I book this flight now, or wait a day?

I am flying from MSP to Oaxaca, Mexico in July, and I saw a flight when I searched two days ago that went up $200 today (I should've booked it two days ago, obviously). Now I have found another flight, but should I book it now or wait until tomorrow? My thought is that people will be booking today (Memorial Day) and the prices will be up, but will go down tomorrow. What do you think? I don't want to wait till tomorrow and have prices go up, but I don't want to risk the price going down tomorrow either.

  1. try this site under vaca packages u.s. http://redhotescapes.com/  the earlier you book the better and once you see a price you like snag it.  watch the fares for maybe a day or 2 try to be flex on your dates and stay over on a saturday flights that leave on a  tues. Wed Thursday tend to be cheaper.  I found it for 800 with tax I dont know if that is good or not.

  2. Book now...flights cost more if you are taking them on memorial day, but not if you book them on mem day...always book asap

  3. Obviously Memorial day has passed. Remember though that most people who would have been flying then would have prebooked already so rates can actually be cheaper when booking on a holiday for later.

Yes it used to be (and occasionally still is) that if you wait the airline would give great deals at the last minute in order to fill slots on the plane. Nowdays though the business model has changed and most all airlines overbook.

So if you wait odds are it will cost much more. Just book it now and get the best rate possible because of early booking and be done with it. It is better than getting a nasty surprise later

  4. NOWWW dey get higher everyday

  5. the further the date from the date of departure the less it will cost.  you have over 31 days b4 your july departure so you should be checking for marked down airfare prices or if any airlines have any airfare sales directly from their websites, most do.  i would not wait no further than 21 days b4 travel date to purchase that ticket.

  6. it will be better for you to book the flight immediately because the airline tickets are not like buying something in a bargain supermarket.. The more you wait, the more prices raises up. Another fact of that are the seats' availability,  so hurry up now before you remain on the ground!!! Airline companies usually implies a "base price" for early clients/passengers on limited seats. When the first seats are sold out, then they raise the tariff gradually. Bon voyage!
