Should I bother to apply to Penn State?

GPA: 2.87

EXcluding freshman year: 3.2

ACT score: 22 ( I am retaking it)

President of a club

Vice president of a club

100 hours of comm. service

a lot of extracurriculars

a few AP's several honors classes

varsity sport (4 years)

  1. I'm going to be honest, I don't think that you are a very competitive candidate for Penn State, even if you manage to raise your ACT score substantially (which is unlikely unless something dire lowered your test taking ability the first time around - such as a serious illness or death in the family).

    On the flip side, if Penn State is your dream school, you should definitely apply and if you don't get in, try to transfer in after your freshman or sophomore year.  Good luck!
