  1. The Euro is the currency of Germany so bring Euros. I also suggest Amex Travelers Checks. I never liked carrying too much cash around. It just isn't safe. Bring some Euros but take most of your money in TC and exchange there.

  2. It's not like you're going to the dominican or something, even if you bring your dollars, you'll have to get 'm exchanged. In Germany they will only accept Euros!

(Maybe if you're lucky they'll accept dollars at the airport; any where else they want their own currency)

  3. try and use euros

  4. Euros....US dollars don't work in too many places

  5. You can bring US Dollars to Germany; it is a worldwide money. You will just change it into Euros and than use the Euros. With the US Dollars, you will be welcome any place around the world.

  6. im going with the censies and saying euros

  7. Go to the money changer and get those EUROS, dude....

  8. you can bring your atm card and get euros right at the machine... definetly the easiest way

  9. euros, get an american express travellers cheque card it is a card instead of cheques. you can use it like a credit card or swith and pay for anything with it.  you can also lift money from atm with it.  really handy and you get them in travel agents just give them the amount you want to spend and if you dont spend it all you can get the money back off it when you get home.

  10. Use Euros.  At the airport they should have a place where you can trade in your USDs to Euros.

  11. use euros

    Æ

  12. euro

  13. Though its a matter of personal choice if u wish to get $ or Euro while in Germany ..its desirable to bring in euro if u wish to avoid 'exchange loss' Exchange Loss is the money u might lose when US$ are conveted into Euro at different places.

1 Euro = US$ 1.25 (aprrox) but differnt places might charge u anything between 1.20 to 1.35 resulting in less Euro against every $.

Further, its esy 2 deal in home currency rather than US$ in Germany for mere convience & accestance levels.

Happy Journey ! Cheers .... God Bless

  14. Euros are the official currency, but there is a very easy way to get them. Talk to your bank and make sure you have a PLUS or CIRRUS code on the back of your ATM card. You can then directly draw money off your account in the US in EUROS, with a great exchange rate. Taking travelers checks to Germany is OK, but there are hefty fees and not everybody takes them.

The trick is to talk to your bank first and see if there is a way to upgrade your account so that you will pay lower or NO fees (PNC bank has an option for no fees with foreign ATMs)  I save 7% by doing this and have the ease of getting cash whenever I need it as there are ATMs (Geldautomaten) allover Germany.

  15. As was said earlier, you should use Euros simply to avoid being charged an exorbitant amount in the exchange rate.  But there are some places, especially where there are US military posts, that accept dollars.

  16. Use Euros

USD is going the way of the dinosaur.
